YouTube Share – Mobiles for monitoring Maternal and Child Health from World Vision India | mHealth

To tackle the problems that come with a large, difficult to understand register that ASHA workers use to monitor the health of pregnant and lactating mothers, World Vision India equipped them with a basic mobile phone with an app that would helpkeep track of the health of mothers and babies. 39 such phones were tried on a pilot basis in Melghat, Maharashtra, a place that struggles with the ugly reality of malnutrition. And the results are good. With the help of audio and visual aids that the app provides, mothers understand better, ASHA workers are relieved of the heavy registers, and we are slowly starting to see change.
